That, in essence, is the ultimate goal of Rudy, aka Canada’s one and only DJ Tiguru. Renowned for his signature style of sexy Ibiza house music, Tiguru has toured his home and native land as well as the world over. In the process, he has become an undeniable musical tour de force.
When it comes to understanding music, Tiguru is no poseur. With a background in both classical music and solfège, this DJ knows a thing or two about keeping the fans happy. With an in-depth understanding of how a beat is structured, Tiguru is all about timing. He knows how (and, more importantly, when) to mix music. “The ‘secret’,” he says, “is knowing how to harmonize two different tracks.”
When you’re good, you’re good. Finding himself in high demand for private parties in his hometown of Montreal, Tiguru’s reputation grew quickly as word of his signature style spread on the DJ circuit. As his popularity soared, he soon found himself as a guest DJ at some of the hottest bars and clubs around the world: El Divino (Ibiza), Pala Lounge (Portland, USA), RedHouse (Morocco), Rain Supperclub (Daytona, USA), Riva (Toronto), Time Supperclub and Wunderbar (W Hotel, Montreal). The hometown boy with the ‘secret sound’ had become a worldwide phenomenon.
Tiguru is at the top of his game. A recent series of compilations that mixed both his favorites tracks and his own remixes of artists like Bob Sinclar, Angie Stone and an upcoming remix that will certainly rock Ibiza in the coming year.
